The Royal Belvedere is a modern, white, all inclusive resort hotel, set in landscaped gardens and overlooking the local town of Hersonissos, 25 kilometres from Heraklion. The 330 air conditioned guestrooms have a light simple decor with tiled flooring and fabrics in cheerful colours. All have balconies which overlook the sea or the mountains, and offer satellite television, dial up Internet access and direct dial telephones.
The hotel's main restaurant serves buffet style Greek and international dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests can swim in the Olympic size pool and enjoy drinks from the poolside bar, whilst children can play in the children's pool equipped with slides. There is a spacious lobby, large outdoor terrace, satellite TV room and an Internet room, as well as card tables, billiards (fee), table tennis and video games. Those in need of some pampering can make use of the two saunas, massage service and traditional Hammam (charges apply). Children aged 4 12 can join the mini club, which organises daily activities including games and competitions. Activities for adults include evening games, competitions and shows. Guests can also browse the onsite souvenir shops, and purchase any last minute essentials at the mini market. Sporting activities at the hotel include beach volley ball, two floodlit tennis courts (fee), and a fitness room (fee). A free bus link from the hotel transfers guests to the Star Beach Water Park where they will find activities including scuba diving, parasailing, banana riding, jet bikes, water skiing and pedalos (fees may apply). Practical amenities include free parking, multilingual staff and currency exchange. Parents may wish to take advantage of the babysitting service which is available on request (charge). Hersonissos is just one kilometre away and offers shopping, restaurants, bars and nightclubs. For a glimpse of Cretan history, the excavation of the Minoan palace at Malia is just five kilometres away and Kn ossos Archaeological Museum is 28 kilometres away. Heraklion Airport is 25 k ilometres away,and the approximate driving time is 25 minutes.

Taxis are readily available from outside arrivals, and a typical fare to Hersonissos is 30 50 EUR. From Heraklion Airport, head towards Aghios Nikolaos for approximately 25 kilometres, take the right hand turn signposted Hersonissos, and travel to the eastern part of the town for the Royal Belvedere.
