Location. The contemporary six storey Hotel Mercure Siracusa Prometeo opened in 2007, features modern architecture, and is situated two kilometres from the centre of historic Syracuse. The Greek Theatre is 70 metres from the hotel and the Paolo Orsi Archaeological Museum is 600 metres away. Syracuse railway station is two kilometres from the hotel and Catania Fontanarossa Airport is 55 kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 50 minutes.
Hotel Features. There is an outdoor swimming pool with a poolside bar and a solarium, and complimentary newspapers are available in the lobby. Mobile phone rental is available, and the air conditioned public areas have high speed wireless Internet (surcharge). Multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk can offer express check in and check out and there is also a concierge desk.
Guestrooms. The hotel offers 93 guestrooms located over six floors, all of which have sleek contemporary decor with light and dark wood furnishings. Expert Tip. The Greek Theatre, carved from the living rock, is a magnificent spectacle and is still used for performances of Greek dramas during the summer months.
