The King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel is a tourist class hotel located on the Big Island's Kona Coast and is eight miles from Kona International Airport and 105 miles from the city of Hilo. The hotel is within walking distance of Kailua Kona Town, the shopping district and restaurants. The great number of amenities, facilities and extras this hotel features makes it an enjoyable place to stay. The hotel has an award winning restaurant in the Kona Beach Restaurant. The restaurant won the 1999 Illima award for "Favorite Neighbor Island Hotel Restaurant." The restaurant is open for breakfast daily, and offers buffet dinners on selected evenings. On site luaus provide entertainment and authentic cuisine while Billfish Bar serves snacks and drinks, poolside.
The resort offers 460 air conditioned rooms in two, six story wings. Paintings on the walls depict the hotel site as it would have looked in King Kamehameha's time. Room amenities include refrigerators, coffeemakers and cable television. Dial up Internet access is available.
